I’m a former cancer researcher who transitioned to user experience and tech to help people faster. It was perfect that I fell into government by accident! Now I work directly on services that affect residents in one of the most forward-thinking cities in the world.
It took me a long time after graduation to figure out what kind of work made me happiest and most fulfilled. My advice is to not put too much pressure on "figuring everything out" right away. Some people just know early on, some are figuring it out as they go, but we're all on our own path.
I fully believe that all of us are capable of making a huge impact on others, no matter where and when we start. Would love to chat about (drastic) career changes, and working in tech, design, and government.
